is iTranscript the Best Way to Get my University Transcript in Nigeria?

An academic transcript is perhaps the most important record for every graduate of a tertiary university anywhere in the world.

It serves as the official proof that a student has completed education, as it shows all the official scores in every subject as well as the overall mark.

So just how important is your transcript?

Most academic opportunities require your transcript to be sent in – from scholarship applications to post-graduate degrees, even career and lifestyle opportunities like a Visa application may require your transcript for processing.

How easily can you get one in Nigeria?

Depending on the school, it’s actually simple. The question is “how much frustration can you endure“?

In many tertiary universities particularly public ones, the current process is painstakingly difficult, except you have a ton of cash to burn for ‘quicker processing’

Many graduates are forced to miss application deadlines or pay hefty fines to accommodate the slow pace of getting their transcript.

So is there another way?

Absolutely! We’ve helped thousands of students and some institutions e.g. University of Nigeria Nsukka to quickly deliver a student’s transcripts anywhere they are in the world, safely.

If you’re wondering how we do so, Seamfix as a technology-focused company, developed an online platform where tertiary graduates can request for their transcript at the touch of a button and we’ll do all the hard work for them!

This sounds too easy to be true isn’t it?

Why not see it for yourself. iTranscript has processed over 25,000 transcripts for students across the country in 80 plus schools. Here’s what one of our dear customers had to say about iTranscript

Comparing iTranscript to the Manual Process

Tired of the frustration involved in getting your transcript?

We did a side-by-side comparison of the steps you need to take to request and get your transcript from either iTranscript or the current process in most Nigerian tertiary universities.

Here is How We Can Make the Transcript-Collection Process Easier for Nigerian Graduates.

Years have gone by, and the issues of the delayed school transcript-collection process are becoming more and more frustrating for Nigerian graduates in Nigeria. Asides from missing out on opportunities like scholarships, postgraduate studies, or even career ambitions. It is sad that some of these local universities aren’t working towards improving this process.

Here in Nigeria, some students do pay for this process, and then wait a long duration, some might not even get feedback at all. Apart from that, the whole school transcript request complications actually could affect their deadline. This whole collection process encourages corruption. For many schools, transcript request is a money-generating deal. Some graduates pay higher than the official fee and still get delayed. Sometimes you are made to roam in the school premises, and still have your transcript delayed.

Many Nigerian youths are already dwarfed by this system. In making life difficult for our graduates, we are in turn stunting the growth of the country. This is 2021 and graduates still go through the stress to get their transcripts from local universities.

Again, the country is going through a phase of insecurities and insurgency.  The roads aren’t safe. Every moment there are cases of kidnapping, murder, and robbery. Considering this, it’s quite unsafe for graduates to be traveling long distances for just an official result statement, that can be sent online.

Moving forward, how can we bring an end to this cumbersome collection process?

First, all procedures should be digitalized. On regular occasions, student’s physical files go missing, because of the mismanagement, and carelessness due to the overflowing hip of files. Sometimes graduates’ files get missing, which is left for them to deal with the aftermath. Digitalizing this procedure alone reduces the workload on the administrative staff. Also, we can have a digital database of all students, past and present. When, in the future, you need to pull up a student’s academic record, it will be made possible at the snap of a finger. It is somewhat tiring for staff to look through piles of dusty files for a student’s record every time. This is unfair to both the student and the admin staff.

Secondly, there should be provision for online applications. If Nigerian Universities make provision for students to order their transcripts online, it will reduce the rate of corrupt staff asking for money from already frustrated graduates. In other words, if graduates can apply for their transcripts without having to be physically present in schools, there will be no event for these staff to ask them to pay an extra fee. It will also make it easier for Nigerians in the diaspora to apply for their transcripts without having to bother anyone to go to their Alma Mata on their behalf.

For all time, if these suggestions above are followed, it will lead to a reduction in the human labor required to process a transcript and so cut costs for universities.

Solution

Seamfix developed iTranscript to simplify these delay processes. iTranscript is limited to some schools for now. If your school is eligible, all you need to do is register on the platform. You will find the required fee for the request, you pay. Then, you await feedback which would fall within 7 days.

iTranscript is an online platform that allows graduates to request, track, and monitor the delivery of their school transcripts in a secure and simple way. The whole process is digital, you don’t have to visit the school to carry out this operation.

This platform has helped thousands of students and some institutions e.g. University of Nigeria Nsukka in the delivery response for student’s transcripts.

Seamfix Boosts Capacity for iTranscript in UNN

As a leading local provider for business and process automation solutions in Nigeria, Seamfix Nigeria Limited has a proprietary solution called iTranscript.

The iTranscript service is the complete automation of the processes for transcript requests, results digitization and transcript processing in higher institutions. The key value derived is the enablement of alumni to make online requests and payment for transcripts from the convenience of their homes or offices, and having these transcripts delivered to any address of their choice, in the shortest possible time.

Currently present at leading Nigerian Universities, iTranscript offers Universities the flexibility, speed and operational efficiency they need by automating the entire transcript request and processing. Alumni of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, have particularly benefited from its great feature of online tracking. This lets alumni track their dispatched transcripts from the institution to its destination via the courier.

Also built into iTranscript is a verification platform “iVerification” that verifies alumni’s transcripts, certificates and statement of results.

In order to boost its capacity, the iTranscript team recently acquired a project vehicle. The need for this arose from the sensitive nature of academic materials (student’s records) being transported from the university’s records office to the iTranscript files digitization office.

The Truck (A Toyota Tundra) has been duly branded both for easy identification and security purposes around the University campus. The vehicle is equipped with a reinforced and highly secure cabin to doubly protect against damage.

Technology and Convenience: The Academic Transcript Fiasco

What is convenience without technology?

Remember the good old days when we had to send a bird to transport letters to someone, or when we had to manually stock up papers for documentation, or even when we rode on donkeys and horses to go from one place to another?

If you look under the hood, you will notice that the world keeps evolving, and technology generally seems to be taking its space, enabling new levels of convenience in all walks of life. Whether you’re in the “I didn’t come to this life to be stressed” group or not, you either view technology as a great tool to diminish stress and worry or a way to bring the world closer together and to help solve some of your greatest challenges. Which means that everyone agrees to the fact that technology breeds convenience

The word convenience could have different meanings to different people. Now when you are asked to define the word convenience, what really comes to your mind?

Well….. Maybe having to shop and purchase your favorite outfit online.

Or maybe ordering your best meal online and getting it delivered to your doorstep.

And to others, like the subject of our article today, it is like applying for your transcript from the comfort of your home and having it delivered hassle-free.

Now that’s convenience… through the effort of technology.

Convenience, Technology and the Pandemic

We live in a ‘technology or fade out’ world. What this implies is that tech waits for no man or business as it keeps evolving.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a lot has changed and our world is experiencing a period of revolution rather than evolution. Organizations are being forced to undergo drastic changes in order to remain relevant amid a shifting technology landscape.

Let’s take the office, for example, most companies have resulted in working from home based on the lockdown enforcement, however, that doesn’t mean that they won’t still go on with their normal work activities.

Work-from-home, which has become the new normal, has made most employees thirsty for anything that makes it easier and convenient to do their jobs.

That is why digital platforms like Zoom, Hangout Meet, Slack, Google docs, and the likes, that make everyday tasks easier to complete and access to information seamless, are in high demand.

Laura’s convenience story

Let me tell you a story about Laura who wanted to further her education abroad. The final document she needed was her transcript from the university where she got her first degree. Mind you Laura’s school transcript process was that where the students needed to go back to school regardless of their location. How stressful can life be … and then, there was the lockdown.

Laura’s school had to comply with the lockdown policy and thus began their digital transformation journey. They sorted out a flexible technology solution that will digitize academic records and automate the processes of transcript requests and processing.

So, all Laura had to do was apply for her transcript online and wait for it to be delivered to her destination, conveniently, within the desired timeline.

Technology is the chief driver for convenience, and will continue to deliver efficiencies and productivity improvements that will make life during and post COVID-19 a little less stressful than it should be.
