I still remember sitting with my co-founders in a cramped dorm room, sketching ideas on a piece of paper, imagining how we could make a difference. With less than $500, we had nothing but sheer determination and a belief in the power of technology to solve real problems.

Today, Seamfix is more than just a technology company—we’re enablers of trust, empowering businesses and individuals to create, verify, and issue trusted digital identities. At the heart of every step we’ve taken is a simple yet powerful idea; identity is a right, not a privilege.

Milestones that Shaped Us

Reflecting on our journey, I am deeply humbled by all the milestones that pushed Seamfix forward and created real impact for individuals, businesses, and industries. These moments often came after a leap of faith—or sheer refusal to quit.

In 2008, we developed our first identity solution, a fingerprint-based system to combat exam malpractice in Nigerian universities. It was a modest start, but it set the stage for everything that followed. Three years later, we expanded into data collection, automating payrolls and conducting staff audits across 12 Nigerian states. A few months later, we built iTranscript, digitising over 10 million academic records for the same universities.

By 2013, the federal government took notice, and we deployed a Windows-based enrollment platform to support the National Identity Management Commission’s identity drive. Five years later, we launched a mobile version, enrolling over 50 million Nigerians through 8,000 centers nationwide.

In 2015, we seized a major opportunity. After MTN was fined for faulty SIM registration processes, we rolled out Seamfix Capture (formerly Biosmart)—our SIM registration suite—within just 10 days, making history as the fastest implementation of its kind. This solution has since processed over 70 million biometric SIM registrations, transforming subscriber registration.

Buoyed by that success, we launched Seamfix Verify (formerly Verified.africa) in 2019. This AI-powered identity verification platform has now verified over 400 million identities for over 1,000 businesses, including leading organisations like UBA, First Bank and Interswitch. That same year, we helped NIBSS register 40 million low-income Nigerians into the financial system through the SANEF program.

Then, in 2021, we took Seamfix global, expanding to the UK, UAE, and key African markets like Ivory Coast, Uganda, and Kenya. Now, in 2024, with a $4.5 million investment from Alitheia IDF, we’re launching more critical services like our new biometric consent engine and extending our digital ID services to five more African countries.

Looking Forward: The Future We’re Building Together

Every solution we’ve built is driven by one goal: creating a future where everyone can access equal opportunities because of their identity.

Our vision is ambitious, and we believe in it wholeheartedly. By 2030, we aim to empower 10,000 organisations, raise 10,000 leaders, and deliver value to 1 billion end users worldwide. We want to be the engine that powers trust between businesses and customers, governments and citizens, educators and learners.

We’re constantly innovating to bring identity inclusion to all, from the bustling streets of Lagos and London to remote villages that have never been part of the digital economy. As I often remind our team, “We’re not just building solutions; we’re building trust.” Our mission is to ensure that no one is left behind and that every individual, business, and community can thrive because they have access to something as fundamental as identity.

This isn’t just a corporate mission—it’s personal for all of us at Seamfix. We see the faces behind every number, every transaction, and every identity created. Together with our partners, clients, and stakeholders, we’re excited to keep shaping a future that’s inclusive, secure, and limitless.

Thank you for being part of our journey. Here’s to many more milestones and to a world where every identity is not only created and verified but truly valued and protected.

Please raise a glass with us, as we celebrate chapter 17 of this incredible journey.
