My journey into the world of technology is one that reflects growth, resilience, and the power of opportunity. With a strong academic foundation, I earned both my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Public Administration from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. At the time, my career path seemed clearly aligned with administrative and public sector roles. However, like many young professionals, I found myself searching for direction and seeking a path where I could grow, and contribute meaningfully.
A pivotal moment in my transition came through the recommendation of my mentor and project manager at Seamfix, Chike Okafoeze. His belief in my potential opened the door for me to begin an internship in software testing in Seamfix. That opportunity marked the beginning of a new chapter—one that would completely redefine my professional path.
While I was still navigating my career direction, Seamfix did more than just offer me a role, they gave me a platform. At a time when my life was seeking clarity and purpose, SEAMFIX paved the way into an entirely new world. True to the saying, “it is better to light a candle than to curse the darkness,” that opportunity became the light that guided my transition into the tech industry.
Starting as an intern in software testing, I stepped into unfamiliar territory with determination and a willingness to learn. Over time, I developed hands-on experience in multiple testing methodologies, including functional testing, API testing, load testing, regression testing, sanity testing, and stress testing. Each project strengthened my ability to identify defects, ensure system reliability, and contribute to delivering high-quality software solutions. Bug detection and reporting became not just tasks, but essential skills I honed with precision and consistency.
Today, I stand as a Software Tester, a role I once could not have imagined for myself. My journey is a testament to the impact of opportunity, mentorship, and perseverance. SEAMFIX did not just introduce me to tech—they empowered me to grow within it, equipping me with the tools, skills, and confidence to thrive.
Looking back, I am deeply grateful for how far I have come and for the organization and individuals who made it possible. My story is proof that sometimes, all it takes is one opportunity and one person who believes in you to change the trajectory of a life. And for me, that opportunity came at the right time, lighting a path that has now become my career.
