Seamfix, a leading tech company in Africa, collaborated with one of her biggest clients, MTN, Africa’s largest mobile operator, on the MTN’s 21 Days of Y’ello Care volunteering program.
This program was founded in 2006 by the MTN Group to encourage all MTN staff members to volunteer and give back to communities in the countries where they live and work.
This year’s initiative, the first of its kind and ideated by Seamfix, aimed at providing a structured educational impact on the Ihiala community in Anambra state by setting up an e-library for all students in the community. Students will have free access to the e-library, plus free WIFI, access to computers, modems, and many more.
To commemorate this, a ceremony was held in the community on the 17th of June 2019. The ceremony had in attendance, Mr Chimezie Emewulu, MD of Seamfix Ltd; with the MTN directors, executives and staff resplendent in unique yellow t-shirts; the community dignitaries, chiefs and the traditional ruler clad in their native attires and befitting red caps; and the parish priest of St Martins Catholic Church Ihiala, Anambra; among others.
Seamfix was most recognized for her commitment and devotion to making the project a success. As is tradition, the ribbon was cut in two by the community dignitaries, officially declaring the e-library open for use.
The happy children, showed their profound appreciation with a special choreography, after which they were tutored on how to maintain and use the equipment provided.
