Katsina State current governed by Aminu Bello Masari is in the North-west zone of Nigeria. Dubbed the ‘Home of Hospitality’, the state occupies 24,192 square kilometers with a population size of 5,801,584 according to 2006 census, ranking 4th of the 36 states in the federation by population size.
Authorities of the Katsina State Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs and State Universal Education Board (SUBEB) were challenged with the need to enroll government staff and ensure that no ghost worker previously disengaged from their duties were reinstated. To this do this right, they needed a platform that could automate their data collection process, provide seamless synchronization across all channels so data is stored once and for all, and most importantly perform real-time validation to flag off discrepancies.
For this process, BioRegistra was deployed state-wide. In partnership with Skye Bank (Now Polaris Bank), we captured the data of 2000 reinstated staff in different local governments and SUBEB in Katsina State. Next, the solution was used to scan through all 28,000 fingerprints captured, validating and verifying on the go, and in less than 24 hours the Data Deduplication feature of the solution allowed agents detect duplicates, sharing the results with Katsina state for insightful decision making. What’s more? The offline feature of BioRegistra made the work easier by allowing agents capture data when there was no internet connectivity, and store locally on their devices. In the end all records were exported across numerous channels without losing any bit of information.
Honorable Abdul Kadir Zakka, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, visited the project site on the first day and commended the efforts of the BioRegistra team.
In his gentle words- “Through the use of BioRegistra, the capture in Katsina was recorded as smooth, peaceful and safe.”
What can we say? we created a flexibility and dynamic platform that is easily adaptable for every identity management needs.
